Q: HOW BIG IS YOUR HARP?
A: I own a beautiful
Lyon & Healy
Style 85CG harp (47 strings). It stands just over six feet tall and weighs approximately 80 pounds.
Q: HOW MUCH SPACE DO YOU NEED IN ORDER TO PLAY?
A: To perform most comfortably I require approximately a 4'x4' space to accomodate my harp, my bench, and my stand.
Q: WILL THE HARP BE LOUD ENOUGH FOR MY SPACE?
A: The harp is an extremely resonant instrument and carries well, even in large spaces. In special circumstances, though, the harp can be easily amplified.
Q: CAN YOU PLAY FOR OUTDOOR EVENTS?
A: Yes, but only under certain conditions. The harp is very sensitive to weather conditions and cannot be subjected to rain, extreme heat or cold. Also, the harp can only be played on flat, level, and hard surfaces (preferably pavement or wood). For events taking place in unpaved or grassy areas, I am happy to provide a small platform on which to set the harp.
Q: HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
A: My fee varies depending on several different factors: type of performance, length of performance, and traveling distance. To inquire about your specific event, please contact me.
Q: CAN I LISTEN TO YOU PLAY BEFORE HIRING YOU?
A: You may click here to listen to sound samples online, and an in-person consultation is always complimentary.
