Many people have specific pieces in mind for their wedding ceremony, but for those who do not, this guide can serve as a starting point for the music selection process.

These lists are in no way complete, so if you would like to request a piece that you do not find listed here, please, contact me. I will do whatever I can to accomodate your wishes.

MUSICAL SUGGESTIONS

PRELUDE: The prelude music usually lasts between twenty and thirty minutes prior to the ceremony and helps to set the mood for your special day. Most couples leave the selection of this music up to the musician, but special requests are welcome.

PROCESSIONAL: You may choose to have one musical selection for the entrance of the bridal party and another for the bride, but it is also acceptable to use the same piece for both. Some very popular suggestions are listed.

Bach - Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring
Pachelbel - Canon in D
Vangelis - Hymne
Wagner - Bridal Chorus from "Lohengrin"

RECESSIONAL: This selection is traditionally upbeat and joyful. There are many options for this part of the ceremony, but the most common requests are listed here.

Beethoven - Ode to Joy
Clarke - Trumpet Voluntary
Handel - Concerto in B-flat
Mendelssohn - Recessional
Purcell - Trumpet Tune

OTHER MUSIC: Many couples choose to have additional music during the ceremony, whether it be during the lighting of a unity candle or simply soft music during a reading. As long as you know when you would like the music played, suitable selections can be made.

OTHER MUSICIANS

I can certainly provide all of the music for your ceremony, but I am happy to work with other instrumentalists and vocalists as well. If you are interested in having a duo, trio, or quartet for your ceremony, I am able to provide references for other musicians.
